"OTTAWA - What is one of the best ways to fight poverty? Get married, says the Institute of Marriage and Family Canada.
The socially conservative organization has released a new study that suggests marriage is a big contributor to helping raise family incomes.
'Marriage helps secure friend and family networks in times of need, such as job loss, or the loss of family member," researcher Peter Jon Mitchell said Tuesday. "And stable families also serve as an avenue for social mobility for children.'"
