First Annual Family Policy Conference

INTRODUCTION:

The family has been under increasing pressure in the past number of years.  Changes in the number of hours we work, changes in family law, changes in the media and the list goes on.

As these potential social changes appear on the horizon, Canada’s decision makers must be fully informed before they enter the debate.  For this reason, the Institute of Marriage and Family Canada is pleased to welcome you to our First Annual Family Policy Conference.

This one day session, held on Thursday September 28 in Ottawa, drew together Members of Parliament, senior Ministry staff, Non-Governmental Organizations and other groups and individuals that are a part of and influence the most important piece of the social foundation of our country – the family.
